Foremost artist of the sea, Christian Riese Lassen has recently completed the fourth painting in his mystical artistic series, “Beyond Hana’s Gate”. This new magical masterpiece, entitled “The Great Answer”, is the first painting in chapter two and will reveal new insights and clues in Lassen’s unique pictorial love story.

The completed chapter one comprises three of the most successful new editions in Lassen International’s collections, “Beyond Hana’s Gate”, “Eternal Embrace” and “Mystical Journey”. Each painting uniquely unfolds part of the romantic love story between a beautiful island girl and her handsome foreign lover who has gone off to sea.

Dutifully the girl waits daily on a point overlooking the beautiful beach in Hana on the island of Maui for the love of her life to return. As a tribute to the Gods of the sea for her lover’s safe return, the girl brings gifts, which she places on the waves and in the sand. The sea, in return, offers its gifts to the girl. There are also a number of subtle, hidden clues, which Lassen sees as gifts of his own to viewers.

“The Great Answer” continues this romantic saga of true love challenged by separation and the mystery of the unknown by revealing artistic answers and telling treasures in that distinctive Lassen style.
